Zhen is the founder of Geelong Chinese Medicine Clinic. She obtained a Bachelor of Medicine (Major in Acupuncture) from the prestigious Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, and has a Doctor of Philosophy from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Melbourne for her research into pain in older people.
In clinical practice, Zhen has a special interest in acute and chronic pain management. Zhen combines her training in Chinese medicine, Western medical sciences, her own research and modern research results into her Chinese medicine (acupuncture) practice for managing pain. She also has an interest in alleviating the impact of emotional issues on various aspects of health, such as sleep, digestion and fatigue, and an interest in health issues associated with ageing.
Zhen is passionate about individualised approaches and involving patients in their own health care for sustained results. Her compassionate and holistic approaches to health define how Geelong Chinese Medicine Clinic operates, and has helped build a highly professional, ethical, compassionate team of practitioners at Geelong Chinese Medicine Clinic.
As well as being the lead practitioner at Geelong Chinese Medicine Clinic, Zhen is actively involved in academic, professional and community activities. She is an associate professor at the RMIT University. Her research focuses on acupuncture for pain management, and integrating acupuncture into the acute care setting in hospitals.
Zhen is a member of the Australian Pain Society (APS), the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP), and the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA). She provided consultancy to Chinese medicine registration bodies and various government education bodies. Zhen is a member of the not-for-profit Hands on Health Australia (HOHA) at the Healing Hands Norlane Clinic. Zhen is also a member of the Rotary Club of Corio Bay.

Lauren practises acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She has a Master of Chinese Medicine from the prestigious, world renowned Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing, China.
Lauren worked in China as a medical resident in a hospital and has practised in private clinics in Australia since her arrival in 2009. Lauren has a strong interest in maintaining women’s health, as well as infertility, insomnia and emotional disturbances treatment. She believes any kind of pain or any health issues are signals sent by body which means they should never be treated isolated without considering about the person’s constitution, age, and spiritual condition.
Trained in both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medical sciences, Lauren combines the two comfortably in her clinical practice aiming to achieve successful results for patients.

Rose is a registered acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner and has four years’ experience in clinical practice. She is a member of the Federation of Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Societies of Australia (FCMA). She holds a double bachelor degree of Health Sciences and Chinese Medicine (Distinction) with hospital internship experience in the world famous Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Nanjing, China. She is currently at her final stage of obtaining a Doctoral degree (PhD) from the School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, RMIT University. Her research focuses on investigating the effects of Chinese herbal medicine combined with food technologies on weight loss.
Rose is professional, caring, patient, compassionate and enthusiastic. She has always been interested in Chinese medicine since young. She has a family background of Chinese medicine as her grandparents and uncle are all Chinese medicine practitioners. Rose has a strong interest in women’s health (menstruation problems, menopause, and infertility), weight management (weight loss, weight maintenance), chronic pain (migraine, neck and shoulder pain, sciatica pain, tennis elbow, wrist and ankle pain) and cosmetic acupuncture. Chinese medicine understands the skin is a reflection of the internal environment of our body. This holistic view of skin is the foundation of cosmetic acupuncture.
Rose worked as a registered nurse for more than 5 years in a neurological rehabilitation ward prior to her study of Chinese medicine. Having practiced in both Western medical and Chinese medicine settings, and now working in the research field, Rose strives to provide evidence-based care, give clear explanations, and engage patients throughout the treatment process to achieve the best outcomes.
